The expressive laboratory provides participants with the experience of a creative journey, divided into three meetings, which will connect different expressive techniques of photography and writing. The path intends to move as if inside a "matryoshka", gradually experiencing one discovery within another, passing through images, writing and specific techniques such as caviardage and cut-up. Participants will in fact experience a process composed of multiple levels that interact with each other: starting from a first expressive technique, the artistic material useful for subsequent experimentation will be created and so on, up to a final layered visual product. The work will take place in a small group (maximum 10 participants). The expressive workshop will be conducted at each meeting by two experts in the specific artistic tool/mediator used, while permanently guaranteeing the presence of a third figure, who will have the function of managing and offering support to the participants regarding the technical aspects. The meetings will take place online, on the Zoom platform, and digital tools useful for group work will also be provided (such as the shared "whiteboard"). REQUIREMENTS: Technical knowledge of photography or writing is not necessary to participate. A pinch of good will and a computer will be enough to connect to our digital classroom! EXPERIENTIAL PATH IN 3 MEETINGS - on Friday from 3.30pm to 5.30pm May 21 - IMAGES IN DIALOGUE "Every photograph, even the most apparently banal, contains and tells a story, a thousand stories, as many as there are different eyes that observe it". Inside each image, different layers and meanings are hidden and mixed, which can only come to light through the gaze of those who observe them. Starting from the use of photographic images, participants will have the opportunity to get to know each other, discuss and highlight their own subjectivity and point of view, making the diversity of looks a strong point. May 28 - CREATIVE WRITING Writing is a discovery, which can become a shared tool for exploring everyone's sensitivity, imagination and vision of the world. By delving into the themes that emerged in the first meeting, a work of de-construction of the images will be carried out through creative writing exercises in groups, promoting cooperation and sharing between the participants. This work will lead to the creation of a short fictional story. June 4 - POETIC ERASURES The caviardage it is a method of poetic and expressive writing that helps to create compositions and thoughts, starting not from a blank page, but from already written texts. Starting from the material produced during the creative writing meeting, each participant will have the opportunity to experiment, individually, with this particular writing/erasing technique. The Foundation is pleased to present the concert of Pinched Brigands, the musical group of our art therapy and socialization laboratory, in the prestigious setting of the Santa Cecilia Conservatory (via dei Greci, 18 - Rome).

THE Briganti Pizzicati will perform on February 14th at 7.00 pm. The choice of the date is not random, but evocative. The theme of the evening will be love, that love that manifests itself in care for yourself and others; care which means action, towards one's own (and others') psychosocial well-being.

There the true protagonist of the evening will be art and its material and immaterial value of care and inclusion. In addition to the music of Briganti Pizzicati, in collaboration with Music on the Way, there will be poetic and theatrical incursions, the result of the work carried out in other art therapy laboratories, with a view to a creative collaboration that highlights their technical rehabilitative value. There will also be the extraordinary performance by a high-level student of the Santa Cecilia Conservatory.

THE PROGRAM

The musical evening will be hosted by Adriana PannitterI, a TG1 journalist who is very sensitive and attentive to the topic of mental health. The direction will be by Franco Pennacchi.

With theater we fight the stigma of mental distress. Our laboratory is a lighthouse against indifference towards a topic too often left in the shadows by the media, politics and economics.

Let's fight to keep open the few places that feel and welcome this emergency. We need your support because we are convinced that restoring well-being to a single person improves the health of the entire community.

We are there Strambo Teatro Company. Some of us are tall, some short, others still young, elderly, stubborn, energetic, calm, greedy, sporty, lovers of the sea, the mountains, art.

Some of us, Then, suffer from psychological distress.

Our home is there Di Liegro Foundation. For more than twenty years he has been giving voice to the invisible. Without ever giving up, he carries out activities, projects, research: all to create that support network for people with mental health problems and their families, so that they are no longer excluded.

Our theater laboratory is one of these. Here we have become a company. Here our differences have become glue, here we have freed ourselves from labels.

Here we are together. Here we are actors.

Every week we meet at the Foundation to sweat, smile, act, create. Together we build the show that we stage at the end of the year, together we get excited, together we are stronger. Theater is good for us and we can no longer do without it. It's our home.

Theater changed our lives. For the better. It was an antidote to isolation, a multiplier of self-esteem, a tool to combat social exclusion caused by the stigma of mental distress. Was a immense and precious facilitator of personal and relational growth.

Here, beyond ours, there are every day art therapy workshops and socialization. There mental health it is their battle and the fight against marginalization is so powerful that they can breathe it. Here, we are a family. And we recognize each other.

This year our theater workshop is unable to start. The Foundation cannot support all the necessary expenses and we cannot help it with our own strength alone.

With your support we will be able to reopen our doors, furnish the rooms with a beautiful scenography, continue working with our director Roberto and go on the stage of a "real" theater at the end of the year!

We need you to go on stage!

Even a small donation can help us reach the goal. If you can't donate, maybe you can share the campaign and help spread the message.

I'm Lisa, I'm 67 years old. I felt very alone after the death of my doctor and the closure of the Day Center where I had friends who understood me. I arrived at the Foundation 5 years ago, my family told me that I would find new friends and that I would act with them in the theater workshop!
My sister Maria was always with me, even when we rehearsed. Sometimes I find myself in places I don't remember and don't understand where I am.
Today Maria no longer comes. A volunteer from the Foundation accompanies me but remains outside waiting for me. I love my new actor friends and I trust them.

Murale a Roma Fondazione di LiegroA laboratory designed around photography and its ability to fuel emotions and thoughts through what is framed within the limits of a frame. What to frame and how to do it makes the difference between who takes the shot and who takes the shot. With their respective internal realities and everything that lives and moves, slowly or frenetically, in each human being. The Photography Laboratory, one of our art therapy activities, represents the space for meeting and integration, in which people eager to undertake a journey of growth and change, accompanied by professional photographers, tell their stories and the world in they live in and the world they live in.

The Don Luigi Di Liegro International Foundation has been carrying out initiatives and programs on mental health since 2005, thanks to which over time a territorial support network has been created which works to encourage the social inclusion of people with mental health problems with therapeutic rehabilitation courses at Mental Health Centers of the ASL of Rome and with the support of volunteers trained through the annual training course "Volunteers and Families in the Network for Mental Health".

It is possible to purchase photographs of the laboratory by donation, by sending an email to segreteria@fondazionediliegro.it

Dear friends, the Foundation, starting from the solid principles left by Don Luigi, renews its commitment every day to take small steps on a path aimed at protecting the dignity of the most fragile people in society.

Much has been done and much more can be done. And we are happy to invite you to the Christmas Concert, organized with our music laboratory in the exceptional setting of the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Via dei Greci 18 on Wednesday 12 December at 7.00 pm

Anyone wishing to book can do so by calling 066792669 or by sending an email to: segreteria@fondazionediliegro.it

The experience of many years has shown us the therapeutic value of the tools they use creativity and talents, to combat the isolation and loss of self-esteem caused by mental disorder.

The artistic and socialization workshops they are a flagship of the Di Liegro Foundation. Painting, theatre, music, photography, cooking and sewing they bring out resources and potential that everyone possesses, more or less. It is partly individual work which however takes place in a group context. It is "doing and participating", knowing and making yourself known. People referred by the Mental Health Centers of Rome, psychologists, psychiatrists and social workers arrive in the laboratories. Participation is on a voluntary basis. They are users who choose to leave an institutionalized context to enter a reality that includes volunteers, family members, operators and which is open to the territory.

For several years, art therapy has been accompanied by a pilot project by the Di Liegro Foundation: la Fast walk. A movement technique that gives psychophysical well-being to anyone who practices it.

The photographic exhibition "On The Street" was inaugurated on Thursday 29 March at the Officine Fotografie (via Giuseppe Libetta, 1) in partnership with the Fondation d'Harcourt. Visitors will be able to observe a review of metropolitan images taken by the participants in the photography workshop which was conceived and organized by the Don Luigi Di Liegro Foundation. By purchasing one or more images you will be able to support our photography laboratory and allow us to move forward in our commitment.

"Memory of the Future" is the title of the show that concluded our Foundation's theater workshop. The text was born from the actors themselves, men and women, who know mental distress firsthand. Their suggestions and emotions reached the stage. The result was a reflection on time: past, future, but above all present. The public appreciated it a lot. The beautiful scenography was created by the Foundation's sewing workshop. We have been dealing with mental health for 15 years and every year there is a surprising result. The show was staged for two evenings at the Le Cave di Castalia Theatre.

Last May 12th and 13th the show entitled "The strange trials of Romeo and Juliet" was held at the La Fonte theater in Castalia. The show is a retelling of Shakespeare's famous play. Many young people from our foundation took part in the performance, taking on the roles of the characters to give the public a great show full of emotions.
